For feedlot and pasture cattle and sheep. Bovatec® (lasalocid) is fed for improved feed efficiency and increased rate of weight gain in beef cattle in confinement for slaughter (10 - 30 g/ton). Bovatec is fed for increased rate of weight gain in pasture cattle (slaughter, stocker, feeder cattle and dairy and beef replacement heifers). Bovatec is fed for the prevention of coccidiosis (review label for specific strains) in sheep maintained in confinement.
Guaranteed Analysis | Feeding Directions
Mix with grain and/or roughage to provide 10 - 30 grams of Bovatec (lasalocid)/ton of complete feed. Feeding at rates shown on the C & S 4000B Mixer tag will provide 100 - 360 mg of Bovatec/head/day.
Mix with grain to provide 30 - 400 grams/ton of Bovatec depending on the ration feeding rate per head per day shown on the C & S 4000B Mixer tag. Feed one of the grain mixes at a rate to provide not less than 60 mg nor more than 200 mg of Bovatec per head per day to cattle on pasture. The drug must be contained in a least 1 pound of fed grain mix.
Mix with grain and/or roughage to provide 20 - 30 grams/ton of Bovatec in the total ration as shown on the C & S 4000B Mixer tag to provide not less than 15 mg Bovatec or more than 70 mg per head per day.
To prevent the development of horn flies, face flies, house flies and stable flies in the manure of treated cattle and horses plus house flies in the manure of treated swine by the oral feeding of Rabon®.
Guaranteed Analysis | Feeding Directions
Rations may be fed up to slaughter and to lactating dairy cows without withholding the milk from market during or after treatment.
Start feeding early in the spring before flies begin to appear and continue feeding throughout the summer and into the fall until cold weather restricts fly activity.
When fed, Rabon 7.76% Premix passes through the digestive system into the animal's manure where it kills fly larvae on contact shortly after fly eggs hatch.
Rabon 7.76% Premix prevents the development of horn flies, face flies, house flies, and stable flies in the manure of treated cattle and house flies in treated swine, but it is not effective against existing adult flies.
In some cases, supplemental fly control measures may be needed in and around cattle lots and barns to control adult house flies and stable flies which can breed not only in manure but in other decaying vegetable matter or silage on the premises.
In order to achieve optimum fly control, this product should be used in conjunction with other good management and sanitation practices.
This product will mix uniformly in feeds when standard mixing procedures are followed. Thus, usual problems that are common to all feed preparation and which cause stratification, such as excessive free fall or excessive handling are to be avoided. It is recommended that appropriate preblending techniques be employed to assure adequate distribution throughout the feed mix. It should be preblended with ground grain, protein supplements, mineral mixes, etc., before being added to roughages, such as chopped hay or silage. Mixing time should be adequate to assure uniform dispersion. Optimum performance can be assured only if it is dispersed uniformly with the feedstuff at the recommended level. Common feed mixing equipment (i.e., vertical mixers, horizontal blenders, mixer/feeder truck) may be used to prepare formulated feeds.
Feeds prepared with this product should not be pelleted, nor be mixed with feeds containing predominantly pellets. It should not be mixed in liquid feed supplements.
Cattle and Horses: The requirement for cattle and horses (all classifications) is .07 grams per 100 lb body weight per day. Use the following steps to determine the amount to add to grain mixes or minerals.
Example: 1,000 lb beef cow eating 0.25 lb (4 oz) of mineral per day.
10 x .07 = .7 x 2000 = 1400 ÷ .25 = 5600 ÷ 35.27 = 158.7 of Rabon 7.76% Premix/ton of mineral.
Optional Guide for Mixing or Top-Dressing for Horses:
Use the following table as a guide for determining the amount to be used per ton of grain mix (concentrate):
| lb of Rabon 7.76% Premix Per Ton of Concentrate | ||||
| Consumed/Horse/Day | 250 lb Horse | 500 lb Horse | 1000 lb Horse | 2000 lb Horse |
| 2.5 | 4.0 | 8.0 | 16.0 | 32.0 |
| 5.0 | 2.0 | 4.0 | 8.0 | 16.0 |
| 10.0 | 1.0 | 2.0 | 4.0 | 8.0 |
| 15.0 | 0.7 | 1.4 | 2.7 | 5.4 |
Use the following table as a guide for topdressing:
Swine: All swine should be treated.
Pigs (weaners to market weight): Mix 1.3 lb per ton of meal-type feed and offer free-choice. This is equivalent to 22.7 mg of Rabon per lb of feed.
Sows, Boars, and Breeding Gilts: Mix 2.6 lb per ton of meal-type feed and offer 4-6 lb of feed per animal per day. This is equivalent to 45.4 mg of Rabon per lb of feed.
For maximum fly control, initiate Rabon feeding in the spring before flies appear and continue until cold weather restricts fly activity.
The following table is a guide for mixing product with mineral, salt, or grain.
Keep out of reach of children. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing dust. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating or smoking. If in eyes, wash with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, see a physician.

To be used in the diets of ruminant animals to aid in reducing acidity problems in the rumen.
A combination of buffering agents (sodium bicarbonate, and magnesium oxide fortified with molasses and vitamins).
Guaranteed Analysis | Feeding Directions
Dairy cattle: To help raise butterfat test, mix 30 - 60 pounds per ton of grain ration, or top-dress at the rate of 4 - 8 ounces per head per day.
Beef cattle: To help reduce digestive problems while starting cattle on feed, mix 10 - 30 pounds per ton of complete ration or top-dress at rate of 2 - 5 ounces per head per day.
Other uses: May be used at other times when digestive problems are apparent. Ensiled products (corn silage, haylage, high moisture shelled or ear corn) tend to be very acidic. Adding Rumen Buff to these feeds will tend to reduce the acidity in the rumen, and help keep cattle on feed.
