Co-Product Balancers
Kent's Co-Product Balancers are a mineral-vitamin ration balancer. They are formulated to balance beef rations containing co-products from the ethanol production industry.
Feeding Co-Products
Co-products from the corn milling industry, distiller's grains, and corn gluten feeds are more readily available in most areas from the expansion of the ethanol industry. Some of the characteristics of these products are:
- It can be fed wet (40%-60% dry matter) or dry (90% dry matter)
- Very palatable - enhances appetite
- High in protein and phosphorus
- Low in calcium
- Low in rumen bypass protein
- Low in natural thiamine
- High level of sulfur
- Poor source of roughage
- 90% to 110% energy value of corn
