OMEGATIN® is a revolutionary diet high in fat and fiber, low in starch, and balanced with quality protein. Paired with low starch and high fiber, OMEGATIN® potentially reduces the risk of diet-related disorders, including colic and founder. OMEGATIN® is a whole new solution to timeless equine nutrition needs.
Until recently, to get more energy into a horse, you had to feed more grain. But high intake of a grain diet can cause digestive problems, such as gastric ulcers, colic, and founder. This diet can also cause increased excitability in some horses.
OMEGATIN® replaces energy from the starch in grain with calories from fat. This formulation provides more energy for growth and performance while minimizing the risk of digestive upsets and hyperactivity.
In some high-fat horse rations fat is poured on top. It's slimy, messy and sticky. Other high-fat rations also require supplementation of vitamins and minerals, along with the fat source.
With OMEGATIN® , a patent-pending process allows the pelleting of high-fat ingredients with the necessary protein, mineral, and vitamin sources. The result is a balanced complete grain mix.
You get the benefits and safety of added fat in a complete grain mix with no guessing or mess.
Some high-fat horse products can contain as much as 50% starch. By comparison, OMEGATIN® has a starch content of only 13.5%. This is a benefit to horses exhibiting starch sensitivity. With lower starch, OMEGATIN® helps maximize the health and safety advantages of high-fat horse diets.
OMEGATIN® is a soft, easy-to-chew pellet. Because the pellet is soft, it is ideal for older horses or horses with poor teeth. Horses take to OMEGATIN® easily because it is cherry flavored for palatability.
OMEGATIN® is fortified as a complete grain mix. This means you don't need to supplement with additional protein. OMEGATIN® also contains flax and biotin for healthy hooves and a shiny coat, plus trace minerals and vitamins for enhanced immune function. The diet also includes three amino acids defined as the most critical to the equine diet: lysine, threonine and methionine.
Unnatural preservatives are something many modern horse owners prefer to avoid. That's why OMEGATIN® keeps its nutrition fresh with natural antioxidants, tocopherols, and citric acid.
OMEGATIN® provides safe, superior nutrition for young, growing foals. Because of its low starch, high-fat and fiber consumption, OMEGATIN® may help minimize developmental orthopedic diseases in rapidly growing foals. Active youngsters receive maximum nutrition to help them grow bigger, safely.
