Born and raised in Nebraska, Sherry Jarvis acquired her first pony at the age of two and was riding on the ranch with her Dad by the time she was four. She started showing horses in 4-H when she was twelve. Plus she competed with good success in Little Britches and High School Rodes. From that first pony ride at two years old it has been a steady climb of learning and developing her horsemanship skills into an artform where the horse's point of view takes priority.
Sherry's first love is horses, her second is fitness both mental and physical and her third is teaching. She attended Chadron State College where she graduated with a BS in Education, with minors in Physical Education and Psychology. The love of working with horses and people has always been her greatest passion. So she quit showing and her teaching job to follow her passion. She started Heart in Your Hand Horsemanship where she helps people develop confidence, leadership, communication, and physical skills for riding so they have more success and fun with their horses. She also loves developing young horses and has a great apprentice program where she guides both young people and young horses through a solid foundation program where both the person and horse get their careers off to a successful start. In 2009 she published her first book "Win Your Horse's Heart" (Be a Better Horseman) which is available on Amazon.com or her website www.heartinyourhand.com
"I own and work with horses in a wide range of ages and breeds. The purpose and goals the owners have for their horses is also quite diverse. Such diversity in ages and expectations of performance demands a variety of feed products. Kent Feeds has an Equine feeding program designed to take into account the individual horse’s needs based on their age, use and breed. I can rely on Kent Feeds to provide a product that will meet the needs of each of my horses and those of my clients. I have fed Kent Feeds exclusively for several years and could not be happier with their products."
Chris has lived in Trenton, IL his whole life. He started riding quarter horses before he could walk and his love for the animal continues with him today. He started out showing Western Pleasure but soon discovered showing Halter was a better fit. He has been training Halter horses for more than 12 years and has trained and shown numerous AQHA World and Reserve World Champions and Top 5 and Top 10 Placings,Congress Champions, PHBA World Champions and an ApHC Reserve World Champion. He works closely with his Youth and Amateur clients to help build their confidence in showing while having fun at the same time. Chris's moto that he continues to stand by is "Keep striving for your goal and never give up on your dreams."
"The horses Chris owns and has in training, range in age from weanlings to aged horses, and vary from broodmares in foal, mares preparing to be bred, to top of the line halter horses. Kent feed's variety of grain fits well into all aspects of Chris's training program. Since starting on the Kent feed program we have had several AQHA Open, Amateur and Select World Champions, AQHA Amateur Reserve World Champion, Congress Champions, PHBA and APHC Reserve World Champions. We are extremely happy with Kent feed and the diversity of the product as it fits all of our horses needs."
